The 31 Days of natural wine blog-a-thon that Cory Cartwright of the blog, Saignee, started up seems like a cool way to spend these east coast rainy days. Cool stuff there. Lots to read and highly recommended.

Thanks for the shoutout Lyle. Can't wait for your post. No less than four people have said "there's plenty of natural stuff in Austria, just do Nikolaihof"
There's the rub. Name me someone besides Nikolaihof. One person does not make a movement. But more on my post.
have to agree on nikolaihof... unfortunately.
Guilhaume,
Oh boy..are you gonna love my post . . .! Early July cannot come soon enough. It has evolved and it will just focus on Germany and why there is not a natural/bio/org scene there. It shall be interesting. Already working on it.
That's the point I was trying to make, four people claiming that yes it was going on, all of them saying the same thing. How many people were saying they wanted to write about X wine from X part of the Loire, yet Germany/Austria gets one representative. But we'll save the discussion for the post. I'm really curious to see your take on it.

Waitaminute! Germany, or Austria? While no Loire Valley, Germany, I thought, had at least a small handful of bio growers. No?
There is a small band of bio/org growers, you are correct, but there are a confluence of reasons why there is not a burgeoning scene. Sulphur for one..but wait for the piece as it should be interesting.
Definitely looking forward to it. It is intuitively odd that, given the history of the environmental movement in Germany, the Steiner-types aren't more prevalent in the wine world. I also don't completely understand why using sulphur should automatically excommunicate anyone.
Cliff,
Neither do I. Copper in many mixtures is way more toxic to the wine but I'll save myself.
