Thoughts on wine and whatever strikes me at the moment. But it's mostly about wine.

Wake Up Show Anthem '94 with Nas, Ras Kass, Dred Scott, Saafir, Pharoahe Monch, Shyheim and Sway and King Tech
This is absolutely the greatest posse song in the history of hip-hop. Right smack in the middle of the Golden Era with so many dope MC's at their peak it is hard to fathom how awesome this track is. Nas drops an incredible verse, Monch destroys it, Shyheim does his thing, the hook is an all time classic. This is my desert island hip-hop song. No questions asked. Every time I hear this I stop everything I am doing bob my head and and start spitting. Hip-Hop like this does not exist today even in Kanye Wests wildest dreams. Real hip-hop will live forever.
YESSIR!!!

Oh Iuli,
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry you missed it, but you got it now. In college we had a friend from SF , who had dozens of Wake Up Show tapes and we rocked them all through college. Good times. This track was like the anthem. True Jeep music.
