I just had a heart attack . . . .or more appropriately had my eyes lunge out and smoke come out of my ears . . . . Warner Brothers cartoon style. Potel has never been priced like this. What is next? $1000 Girardin Chambertin. 2005 Burgundy pricing is truly an anomaly and this proves it.
Clos de la Roche - $375
Chambertin - $500
This wine better be able to clean my house and double as a chauffeur and professional chef as well!
ReplyDeletePotel used to do all that and then some...and you also got change to go have a nice meal!
ReplyDeleteHang on a second, yourself! This isn't the original offering price, nor even the second offering. It is, I suspect, the 3rd or 4th offering, and by now, what with all the "hype", even the most dedicated Australian Shiraz drinker knows he/she should buy some 2005 Red Burgundy.
ReplyDeleteOf course it is not original offering . . .but the price is still insane!
ReplyDeleteHow come you get your 1er cru emails a day ahead of me?
ReplyDeleteDo you also get your Wine Advocate early?
I actually get my wine advocate before everybody else. That's just the way it is.
