Off to France and Germany tomorrow

So I am off on a lovely 2 and 1/2 week excursion to the homeland. And no I do not mean Israel. France and Germany. I leave tomorrow to go to the natural wine fair at Deauville where the likes of Anselme Selosse, Jean-Marc Brignot, Marcel Lapierre, George Descombes, Marcel Richaud, Richard Leroy, Antoine Arena and many more natural wine making stars. It is like a who's who. The list is truly astonishing. Deauville, from what I have researched on the web is a lovely resort town with some amazing beaches. Cannot wait to get up early in the morning and take some cool pics with that killer light.

Then it is off to the Maconnaise, the Beaujolais with visits lined up with Descombes, Brun, Coudert and Desvinges. Then off to Burgundy with many visits including Lafouge, Bart, Rapet, Billard and hopefully Meo-Camuzet.

Then the trip shifts to Germany with visits to Knebel, Steimetz, Clemens Busch, Wassmer, Schlumberger, Furst, Wirsching and Schnaittman. So from Baden to the Mosel I have my driving cut out for me. Well I actually won't be doing the driving which makes it easier. Ha! I am very excited and looking forward to the trip tremendously as this will be my first time in Burgundy and the Beaujolais. So Rockss and Fruit will be updated as much as I can but probably not much. But there will be many stories on my arrival back on or around the 25th of February.

Bon voyage! Here's to good times, lively wines, and tasty food. And to learning new stuff.

While you're gone I'll double up on the hip-hop youtube clips to fill the void.

  4. Safe travels! Beware, though, this time if year, if you wake up early, there won't be any light.

  7. It is hard to express how truly jealous I am. I have never been to Deauville, but would really love to. can't wait for the stories on your return.

  8. I'm jealous as well, Lyle. If I were keeping to the same schedule as followed over the last several years, I'd be headed over about now also. But the well seems to have run dry.... Have a great trip.
