I may not be drinking wine or blogging about wine but when I was in Germany the radio is about 15-20 years back and they love it. You should see all the horrific kitschy cover bands at weinfests all over Germany during the summer months and 9 through 85 year olds getting down till six in the morning. Heard so many funny old tracks this recent jaunt including Coolio's Gangsta's Paradise somewhere in Wurttemberg, but all it did was remind me of Weird Al's brilliant sendup of the Coolio track. Genius lyrics like "As I walk through the valley where I harvest my grain I take a look at my wife and realize she's very plain But that's just perfect for an Amish like me" make this song crack me up every time I hear it. And this video is friggin' hilarious. Timeless satire. Weird Al is sooooooo underrated. Wine soon. I promise. But if you have never seen this, enjoy. I needed a laugh today and this did the trick.
That was fantastic.
ReplyDeleteif i need to talk amish to hang, then lets do it.

You start with a Weird Al song and later in the post reveal that you'll be back to writing about wine? Talk about burying the lead!
ReplyDeleteGreat track, though not my personal fave...
ReplyDeleteWell said. I've loved WA since the second grade when my parents let me get "In 3-D." Accordian-playing genius!
ReplyDeleteSlaton,
ReplyDeleteProps. . . .
This is one of those confusing points of entertainment where I'm not sure if I think it's really funny or just silly-stupid...hard to say.
