Last episode of Lost before writer's strike hiatus

I love Lost. I watched season 1 and 2 in succession and then got disappointed when in season 2 they started showing repeats in the middle of a season and my interest got lost to say . . .no pun intended. Well season three was brilliant and now we are at the midpoint of season 4 due to the writers strike and I have not been disappointed yet. Love all the flash forwards and flashbacks and if you pay attention they are weaving a very complex yarn and doing it very successfully. Yes on the Wire scale this is not very realistic but I cannot think of better escapist TV on right now or over the past few years than Lost. Yes there is some cheez factor but the story that is constantly unfolding is engrossing and it is an addiction of mine. No idea what I will do on Thursday nights at 9pm now for a month but I am hoping the final 8 really deliver which I know they will. It is nice to see such a high level of creative storytelling on television with all this reality puke on. I would rather watch the Golden Girls than any of this reality bullshit.

  1. I am also a lover of Lost. I usually watch it on abc.com though instead of on Thursday nites.

I also like the intricate yet confusing plot. There are characters' stories that I prefer to other ones. Eg. I really liked the one with Sayid and the German girlfriend. I think he is a great actor. I also like the last one before last nite with Sun and Jun. I can't believe he will be killed off; he is a GoodGuy.

I didn't so much like the doctor lady one, Juliet. It was meh.

But I agree, this is the best show on TV right now.

  4. I think Lost is just OK. Better than most dreck on regular TV, but for escapism, I prefer Mad Men.

Put Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy in your Netflix queue. It's only a mini-series, but it is fantastic TV. Almost at the Wire level.

  5. Will put on my Netflix queue.

Hate Mad Men. Tried four episodes and could not feel it. Dad loves it. But that is his era. Like the busty redhead secretary but not worth watching the show for. Damn the vulgar little monkey is turning me into the vulgar little golem.

  6. Desmond's constant made me tear up at the end when the girlfriend picked up the phone!

I like all the stories also.

  7. I just don't really feel it for Juliet yet.

  8. There are actually only five more episodes in this season because of the writers' strike (for a total of 13). The show's creators are going to get to all the major plot points they intended to get to this season, and they'll fold other material into the next (which will have the customary 16 episodes).

  9. I thought the Sayid episode ("The Economist") was the best of these first eight episodes. I loved the classic spy-thriller mindfuck central to its story arc.

    Cool site for sick Lostheads:
