The Reviews are In - Fass Selections Clients LOVE this Champagne

A Delicious, Elegant, Complex Champagne
For the Price of Veuve Cliquot Yellow Label...

But Don't Believe Me - Listen to What FS Customers Have to Say:

"One of my favorite Fass Champagnes to date."

"With air this really came alive and showed nice acidity and mineral bite. Snappy and energetic. A nice Lyle Fass import."

"Great nose after pouring. If this was served blind to me, I definitely would have put this in a much higher price category. "

It's been a while since I offered this because I bought a case for myself and frankly, I forgot that I had not offered it.  Time for me to replenish so I am offering the NV Yann Alexandre Brut Noir for $37.99 a 4-pack which is a screaming Mimi of a deal. After parsing reviews on Cellartracker, it seems people love the Brut Noir.  It has such perfect yeasty and toasty character. Also there are noble aromas with  intense mineral aromatics and energy to the wine that suggested to me this is punching way above its weight class. When you first open it, you think that it is a delicious fruit-driven wine.  When it aerates, the geek comes out; serious concentration of yellow plums, smashed apples and cinnamon. Round, creamy and plump mouthfeel with boisterous red berries and such a long mineral finish. There is an elegance and juiciness to it that makes it so drinkable but it also has great complexity and depth.

This wine really shows the brilliant winemaking skills of Yann Alexandre and his faithful interpretation of the Courmas terroir, within the Montagne de Reims.  It is 45-50% Meunièr which gives the wine it's wild side and stunning aromas, but the 25% Chardonnay tames it and keeps it civilized as pure Meunièr can be crazy and wild and untamed. I like the calming affect the Chardonnay has on this wine.

It punches way above its price point. This drinks like $55-$65.  It is an everyday price (for Champagne) with the elegance and complexity of a much better wine.

They were very passionate in explaining that these are wines of terroir as some Champagne can be blends of so many parcels and vintages that eventually the terroir gets lost in translation. Not here.  Each parcel is vinified separately. They are aged in their cool cellar for 5 years before release. The malo, partial malo or no malo is decided on a vintage by vintage basis. The wines are all fermented in oak barrels so there is body to these Champagnes. But not huge body and they retain wonderful elegance and finesse. This is a house that has very small production of only 30,000 bottles a year split up with multiple cuvees.
