Great Winemakers Can Make Great Wine from Any Grape These Two Whites Are Stunningly Good and Distinctive E&M Lovers Need to Try these Wines

This is the beginning of madness as I call it, as no producer in the entire portfolio has such a devoted
following than Enderle & Moll. The 2015s of Enderle and Moll begin here and because 2015 is such an exalted vintage, (Sven says it is the best they have ever made) I will try and offer all the wines I can. We start with the whites. And what whites they are. There is nothing like them in Germany. Not even close. I sold all except one last year and this year that will not happen. I will sell them all as the special quality of '15 runs throughout them. Whatever grape they get their hands on, they have an almost instant mastery of. Muller-Thurgau, Grauburgunder, Weissburgunder and Auxxerois are all redefined at Enderle and Moll. I love Muller Thurgau and have only been able to sell one cuvee which is exceptional (and very allocated) in its own right, but I am really psyched to offer a new cuvee (for Fass) today.

Today I am thrilled to offer the 2015 Enderle and Moll Muller Thurgau "Muller" for as little as $16.99 a bottle on a 4-pack. I wish all Muller Thurgau that we all like to make fun of as being innocuous and vapid could transform into this wine. This is a brilliant bottle of wine. Forget the price, as at this winery, at every level the wines are brilliant. Just because it's an inexpensive wine does not mean that Sven and Florian don't put just as much blood, sweat and tears into it as the single vineyard cuvees. If the one above it is a wine of mediation (yes it is meditative Muller-Thurgau) this is a wine of knocking back with some nice gastronomic treats by the wayside. It has those insane E and M aromas. Green apple, tons of minerals, some other odd fruits and the aromas keep getting more vivid, clear and defined as the wine aerates. The palate is bracing yet has body and almost an ethereal elegance about it. And it is juicy. Mega juicy. 2015 brings the juice. What does juicy really mean? It means you have perfectly ripe fruit and the acidity to balance it out so that it becomes an explosion of, not to be tautological, but juiciness. I think this is one of the least expensive wines I sell here at Fass Selections, but please, it is so worth it. You won't believe how much wine this is for $16.99.

Next up we have a wine that I actually get written about quite often from happy clients. It is the 2015 Enderle and Moll Weiss/Grau for as little as $17.99 a bottle on a 4-pack. This is a legit value. I don't sell wines like this that often but this really rang my bell. An even blend of 50% Pinot Blanc and 50% Pinot Gris and is a very clear and elegant wine with lots of beautiful juicy fruit, unfiltered, a fascinating herbal complexity that also resonates and echoes on the palate with flowers mixed in. It's like a combo of the fruitier Muller-Thurgau above, and the Muller-Thurgau "Muschelkalk." The wine is very mineral and citrusy on the nose and the palate is a driving nuclear explosive force that explodes on your palate like no other wine in my portfolio. It is like biting into a hypothetical blend of a very ripe red/pink grapefruit and a ripe Meyer lemon. It explodes in your palate and then has stunning stony minerality in the mid palate and uncommon depth. It grows in complexity and weight as It airs. There is not a fresher, more vibrant, deep, vivid, complex wine that we sell for under $20. The wine is revelatory. Combine that quality with the brilliant 2014 vintage, with its trademark juicy fruit and vibrant acidity and you have an epic Weiss/Grau in the making. It is so utterly complete for a wine in which if it had maybe 1 of the 3 things we look for in wines like this, it would be remarkable, but it has all 3. Price, complexity, quaffability. It is the easiest wine to drink in the portfolio and one of my personal favorites as $18 dollars gets you an amazing amount of wine. This was going to be the white wine of the year, but my business partner negged it as too "geeky." Not sure what's geeky about it besides being priced right and amazingly delicious. Maybe Weiss/Grau will scare some of you off but not most of you. Also I kept this wine open in my kitchen to see how long it would last. On day 7, I had my last sip and it was still going strong. That is amazing for an $18 wine. It just gets more complex and more deep. There is something special going on in Munchweir.
