The Wine Geek 64

The Wine-al Four was a rousing success.  In a historic feat, Fass Selections managed to crowd source
a consensus on the greatest wine region of all.  Although, it was suspected that red Burgundy would win, it has now been proven beyond the shadow of a doubt.  One of the great debates of our times can finally be laid to rest.

Today, we announce a new initiative.  To find the greatest wine geek winery in the world.  What is a wine geek wine?  Well, it must be somewhat obscure for some reason.  Region.  Grapes.  Style.  Or maybe it’s just that the marketing is not super slick and they are relatively unheard of.  It also must be a good value for its price because geeks tend to be underappreciated and underpaid.

Rather than creating brackets using a standard system, I decided to go full on geek to the max.  I created an MD5 hash of the winery names and sorted by that.

I will have simple and easy to use polls on both social networks every day and a game will be played every day.  I tasted all cuvees of all wineries after a rigorous scientific analysis where I tasted multiple samples from every winery over one long evening that lasted until dawn.  I'll post the matchup every morning on FB and Twitter and the next morning I'll release the results.  I’ll update the brackets at least once a week.

The wine world will never be the same.
