6 Questions with Martin Muellen

6 Questions used to be a regular feature that I used to adore reading in the Sunday NY Times Magazine.  Now I want to bring the format to Fass Selections by featuring our favorite wine producers and their candid responses to questions. I love this format as it extends beyond the traditional wine questions and shows am irreverent human side to all the people I work with and work
with us. I hope you enjoy this series and the latest installment is from Martin Muellen of his famous namesake estate!

1- What was the last great wine you had that was not one of yours?

Unfortunately nothing. At the moment I am working in the vineyard and in the cellar. I enjoy that too!

4 - If you were prohibited from making wine, what would be your dream job?
Good that I may be a winegrower. It is a very nice job for me. But if it was not possible to be a winemaker, I might work something else in nature. Maybe I would be a ranger in a nature park or a beekeeper................

5 - What is your favorite wine region that is not yours or ones you currently work with?
I like Burgundy, Valtelina, Duro Valley and Tuscany - they are very beautiful wine regions.

6 - What do you think is the biggest problem for winemakers today?
The human that disturbs the natural processes of the earth and thus causes climate change. I hope that humanity takes the right measures to stop this process.
