Lull in '05 Burgundy

Seems like everybody is waiting on Roumier, Rousseau, Leroy, DRC and Dujac. I just heard from my "official" Dujac supplier that an offer should be ready in a month. These prices are going to be crazy. Village wines at $90 minimum I predict. What the heck is Malconsorts and RSV going to be? Haven't seen any Montille, Lafarge or D'angerville either. Scared about pricing on those too. But I am sure DRC next year will crunch everybody.

  1. Roumier priced in UK and Germany already. Best price for Musigny was $450/bottle, and for Bonnes Mares, around $150. Current prices are $500 for Bonnes Mares and upwards of $1,800 for the Musigny.

Dujac not opened yet, though I've heard unofficial murmurs of prices at various sources. (Or possibly, they've already sold through their allocation).

d'Angerville already available through various West Coast sources. And de Montille also opened in London at very high prices ($120/bottle for the Pommards, $200/bottle for the VR Malconsorts). These allocations are long gone.

    Nothing as yet on Rousseau.

  2. How much is Roumier Amoureuses?

Just checked wine-searcher on d'angerville and $160 for Ducs. You can buy the 1996 for $150. 11 years old and a great wine. Had it last year at Town out of magnum. I'll have to dig the note up.

How much for de Montille "Cuvee Christine?"

  3. My mistake on the de Montille wines. The Pommards were 420GBP/case, or roughly 70USD/bottle. The Cuvee Christine was 840GBP/case, or $140/bottle.

And there are some critics who believe the 99's and 02's are better in the Cote du Beaune than the 05's. (except Savigny, which is better in 05). The 99's and 02's are cheaper.

Haven't seen any pricing on Roumier Amoureuses, I'm afraid.
