So the '05 Chignin-Bergeron just kind of cruised along and did not offer much new nuance or complexity while the Roilette "Cuvee Tardive" was dead. But the Croix Boisse was just glorious. The nose offered scorched earth, intense minerality, raspberry and blackberry fruits along with wonderful vivid mint, black flowers and lavender. Almost reminded me of La Mission Haut Brion. Amazingly concentrated and dense with rich, ripe tannins and dazzling purity. This is just sensational and would last easily four to five more days open. Back up the truck?
Oh yeah we drank all the Vitovska as it was the wine of the night. Guess some things get lost in the shuffle.
