This was the first Gangstarr song that I really felt. Incredible beat with that insane high-toned noise that kind of gets on your nerves but after a while is actually the freshest thing you have ever heard. Great clean and concise young Guru. And DJ Premier wrecks shop on the ones and twos with some nice cutting on that crazy tone. A classic.
Yeah, Step into the Arena is definitely a classic album. I hear you on the annoying/fresh high pitch tones (especially when Premo scratches on it). I've got a 35-40 minute commute to my wine shop place of work (K&L in Redwood City, CA) during which I have listened to this record several times.
