Thoughts on wine and whatever strikes me at the moment. But it's mostly about wine.

Three new wine books
So I am a pretty excited wine geek as I have acquired three new wine books over the past month. Riesling by Christina Fischer and Ingo Swoboda, The Bettane-Desseauve Guide to the World's Greatest Wines and Jacqueline Friedrich's The Wines of France: The Essential Guide for Savvy Shoppers. I have alot of reading over the next month. Riesling I started on my plane ride back from Germany and is a great read so far with solid producer profiles that are focused on the producer's actual words which is always nice. Great pictures and seems like the know what is going on in the world of Riesling. Am psyched to finish it. The Bettane-Desseauve guide looks great. Big pictures, nice profiles and a great coffee-table look and vibe to it. Not too serious or in depth but impressive nonetheless. Have barely opened it but I do agree with all the German selections less one . . .so that is a good thing. The Friedrich book I am delving into and I like it so far but so far it is good but not blowing me away. Too much Alsace to start off with . . .could maybe have trimmed it down a bit on that section but otherwise I like the format, rating system and selection of producers. It's alway nice getting new wine books . . . .Maybe I whould write one soon.
So, you got a link to where I can find this Fischer book? Is it in German, or an English translation? O checked Amazon, but nothing...
