Old F.X. Pichler

This was very very interesting. Never had a F.X. Pichler this old but today at the shop Jamie opened the 1992 F.X. Pichler Loibner Steinertal Riesling Smaragd Trocken. The nose was ethereal with notes of honey, earth, wet stones, tangerine, brown spices, lavender, mango & chamomile. Just beautiful aged Riesling. The palate was a little more difficult to understand. Started off skeletal and dry but fattened out a little bit but never really developed the fruit I would expect. Very chalky and powerful with good length and extreme minerality. Spicey on the finish. Palate was okay but not great. Nose was amazing.
